Installing Presets / Actions

Lightroom

Mac

1. Download and unzip the files and open the resulting folder.
2. In this folder you will find the presets with the .lrtemplate extension
3. Open Lightroom 4 or 5. Choose Lightroom > Preferences from the menu bar at the top of your display.
4. A new window will appear with several taps at the top.
5. Select the ‘Presets’ tab
6. Click the button titled ‘Show Lightroom Presets Folder…’
7. A Finder window will appear on your screen.
8. Choose the folder named ‘Develop Presets’
9. Copy the downloaded folder with your new presets into the ‘Develop Presets’ folder.
10. I recommend copying the preset folder to this new location rather than moving it, but it’s your call.
11. Restart Lightroom and you’re all done!
12. Presets are found in the Preset section of the Develop Module in Lightroom (On the left)

 

Windows

1. Download and unzip the files and open the resulting folder
2. In this folder you will find the presets with the .lrtemplate extension
3. Open Lightroom 4 or 5. Choose Edit > Preferences from the menu bar
4. A new window will appear with several tabs at the top.
5. Select the ‘Presets’ tab
6. Click the button labeled ‘Show Lightroom Presets Folder…’ (NOTE: If you do not see the AppData folder go to the Control Panel,  select Folder Options, click on the View tab.  You will see an option that says “Show hidden files and folders”.  Turn this option on, then click Ok.  As soon as you do this the AppData/Program Data folder will become visible)
7. A new Explorer window will appear.
8. Choose the folder named Develop Presets.
9. Copy the downloaded folder with your presets into the Develop Presets.
10. I recumbent copying the preset folder to this new location rather than moving it, but it’s your call.
11. Restart Lightroom and you’re all done!
12. Presets are found in the Preset section of the Develop Module in Lightroom (on the left)

 

Photoshop

1. Download and unzip the files and open the resulting folder.
2. In this folder, you’ll find the presets with the .atn extension
3. Open Photoshop
4. Press F9 or go to Window > Actions to open the Actions palette
5. Click the small triangle in the upper right corner of the Actions palette
6. Select Load Actions from the menu, then locate the downloaded action and press Load.
7. Click on the triangle next to the action set to expand it, then select one of the actions.
8. With the action selected with the Action set, click the Play button located at the bottom of the actions palette to run the selected action.
